What we collect, and what we do not.
Short version: we keep the email address you type into a form, on a server we run ourselves, until you ask us to delete it. We do not sell it, we do not share it, and there is no advertising tracker on this site.
Who is responsible
Energy Academy Project, a subsea and offshore technical education project. For anything on this page, write to hello@energyacademyproject.com — a person reads it.
What we collect
Only what you type into one of the four forms on this site (course waitlist, company enquiry, community sign-up, free checklist):
- your email address;
- the optional answers you give — role, topics of interest, company, message;
- the page the form was sent from (including whether it was the English or the Portuguese version), and the IP address the request came from, kept so we can stop automated abuse.
We do not ask for, and do not want, anything from your employer: no project data, no drawings, no document under NDA.
Why we keep it
To write to you about the thing you signed up for — a course opening, a new episode, an answer to your enquiry. Nothing else. We do not sell, rent or share any list, and we do not send anything you did not ask for.
If you ask for the free checklist, you also join our newsletter, as the form says: one email every two weeks with new episodes, career notes and course news. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes you off the list. Joining the course waitlist or sending a company enquiry does not put you on the newsletter.
Where it is kept
On a server we operate ourselves, not on a marketing platform. The submission is written to a file that only we can read. We do not use Google Analytics, and there is no advertising or profiling cookie on this site.
Visit statistics
To know which pages are read, we count visits with Umami, an open-source analytics tool that we host on our own server. It sets no cookie, does not store your IP address and builds no profile: it records the page, the referring site, the browser and device type, and the country. These counts are aggregated and are not shared with anyone.
The one third party on the page
Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser asks Google's servers for the font files and, in doing so, discloses your IP address to Google. That is the only third-party request this site makes. Videos embedded from YouTube, when present, are subject to Google's own terms.
How long we keep it
Until the purpose ends or you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first. Abuse-prevention records (IP address and timestamp) are of no use to us after a short period and are cleared with the rest of the entry.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted — including after you have signed up. Write to hello@energyacademyproject.com and we will do it and confirm in writing. You do not need to give a reason.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that affects you, the date at the top changes and we say what changed. This project is at an early stage: when a legal entity is registered, its name and address will appear here.
